Tantallon House Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

Snow at Tantallon House Holiday Cottage and B&B

Last night we had about 3 to 4 inches of snow at our Bed and Breakfast and Holiday Cottage! This is the first snowfall we have had this winter but it is only November still (except for a smattering a few days ago). It looked absolutely amazing as you can see from the photographs I took. The main road from the A69 up to RAF Spadeadam is usually gritted by the base but all the side roads and village roads are partly cleared but slippery.

It must have been very cold last night as the River Irthing edges were all frozen and the section of river just above Stepping Stones was frozen right across the river. Who knows what we are in for over the next few days? At the moment, from the A69 to the road junction about 200 yards away from us is salted and OK with care. The last 200 yards is passable but slippery and our drive is a bit of a no go area!

We hope you like the beautiful photos of Tantallon House in the snow! Our Hadrian's Wall Bed and Breakfast is still open for business, despite the snow. It's an amazing time of year to come and visit us and stay in our stunning rooms which overlook Hadrian's Wall. If you are looking for a longer term stay, then you might want to stay in our other accommodation we offer - our Self Catering Hadrian's Wall accommodation. We have recently been building our Holiday Cottage in Cumbria, which is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to explore Hadrian's Wall and the surrounding counties of Northumberland and Cumbria.
